Anyone Demanding Money For SHS Placement Is A Fraudster – Dr. Apaak To Parents
Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, has issued a stern warning to parents and guardians, cautioning them against paying anyone for Senior High School (SHS) placement.
In a tweet shared on September 10, Dr. Apaak made it clear that the SHS placement process is entirely free, describing anyone who demands money for placement as a “fraudster.”

“Placement is free. Do not pay money to anyone who claims he/she can help you with placement. Anyone who demands money in exchange for placement is a fraudster and should be reported to the police immediately,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

His statement comes as families across the country await the release of this year’s SHS placement results a period that often brings a mix of anticipation and anxiety as students prepare to transition into secondary school.
Alongside his message, Dr. Apaak shared a short explanatory video demonstrating how to use the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS). The video walks viewers through logging in to the portal via www.cssps.gov.gh, choosing from available options such as Choices Confirmation, Check Placement, or Self-Placement, and entering their BECE index number and date of birth to access placement details.

The step-by-step guide is designed to help parents and candidates navigate the process with ease and avoid falling victim to fraudsters.
