Amasaman High Court Turns Down Nana Agradaa’s Bail Application
The High Court in Amasaman has rejected a bail application filed by the legal team of Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, as she awaits the outcome of her appeal.

The update was confirmed by Dr. Bernard Kofi Asamoah, a member of her legal team, in an exclusive interview with Citi News on Tuesday, July 15. He stated that the court declined their request for bail and instructed the Circuit Court to provide all relevant documents related to the pending appeal.

“We applied for bail pending appeal, but the court did not grant it. Instead, it has directed the Circuit Court to submit all necessary processes regarding the appeal. We will continue with the appeal,” Dr. Asamoah said.
The bail application follows Nana Agradaa’s decision to challenge her recent conviction. On July 3, she was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Circuit Court, presided over by Justice Evelyn Asamoah, after being found guilty of defrauding by false pretence and engaging in charlatanic advertisement.

Her lawyers have since filed a notice of appeal, arguing that the trial was flawed and the judgment unjust. On July 7, lead counsel Richard Asare Baffour revealed that a formal petition had been submitted to the High Court, seeking to overturn both the conviction and the sentence.
Despite the denial of bail, Nana Agradaa’s legal team has affirmed its commitment to pursuing the appeal through all appropriate legal avenues.
