The Chairman of the Afro-Arab Group of Companies, Alhaji Salamu Amadu, has officially launched the Electric Car Work and Pay Initiative a new program expected to create over 2,000 jobs for young people in Ghana.

The launch took place earlier today at the company’s headquarters in Nima. The initiative aims to reduce youth unemployment while also promoting clean and environmentally friendly transportation. Speaking to the media, Alhaji Salamu Amadu revealed that the first batch of electric vehicles has already arrived in the country and is ready to be given out to interested young people.

He explained that the program is designed to provide jobs and at the same time help reduce air pollution. According to him, climate change is a serious issue in Ghana and around the world, and the use of electric vehicles is one way to cut down carbon emissions and improve air quality.

“This initiative is about giving young people the opportunity to earn a living while also protecting the environment,” he said. “Electric vehicles will reduce our dependence on fuel, lower harmful emissions, and create decent job opportunities.”

Under the Work and Pay model, beneficiaries will not need to pay the full cost of the vehicles upfront. Instead, they will work and gradually pay for the cars over time, making ownership more affordable and sustainable.
