Kumi’s time in Parliament was not without controversy. In February 2025, the Koforidua High Court convicted him of contempt for defying an injunction that barred his swearing-in. However, the Supreme Court overturned the ruling in June 2025, citing judicial bias and reinstating his status as MP.
