Actress Keke Palmer who is widely known to be the protagonist in the movie ”Akeelah and The Bee” bearing the character name Akeelah together with her companion Darius Jackson have warmly welcomed their first baby. The actress disclosed her straining struggle with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) her entire life.
On Saturday, Feb. 25, the actress gave birth to a baby, whom they called Leodis Andrellton Jackson (nicknamed Leo).
The actress announced the exciting news on social media on Monday, providing a look into her and Jackson’s lives as first-time parents
Fans were initially greeted with a snapshot of the pair “just 48 hours after becoming parents,” as well as a video of the two of them grooving out to “Someone” by El Debarge.
“Look at God, we became each other’s someone and created a someone!” Palmer elaborated in her post.
The actress also posted intimate photographs of herself and her husband cradling their kid, as well as solitary shots of baby Leo.
“I’m not hiding the world from my son, I’m hiding my son from the world,” she captioned the picture.
“I want to set the record straight — I am pregnant,” the former Disney Channel star told viewers, gushing about how “beyond blessed” she felt to be starting family.
Palmer and Jackson kept their relationship primarily private, although the fitness teacher did hint at his girlfriend’s due date.
“2023,” he captioned photos of the “Nope” star’s budding belly via his Instagram Stories at the time.
Time prior to her pregnancy, Palmer told Ricky Smiley that she wanted to have children “at some time” in her life.“I don’t want to have kids too later on because I definitely want to be able to get that snap back,” she explained during an August 2019 interview. “But at the same time, I don’t really want to have a kid just yet.”
She did, however, note that the “clock [was] ticking.”
The following year, the “True Jackson VP” alum was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome, which is a hormonal disorder that can be characterized by excess hair growth, obesity and infertility.
Palmer in an instagram post in December 2020 revealed that, PCOS had been “attacking” her body her entire life, linking it to her acne struggles.

“My acne has been so bad that people in my field offered to pay for me to get it fixed” she told her followers. “I tried EVERYTHING. I did all that, I ate all the ‘right’ things, my blood tests were fine.
“It took ME taking a personal look into my family that has a history of diabetes and obesity to understand what was ACTUALLY happening with me,” Palmer concluded, telling those suffering that they are “not alone” and “f–king fine.”
The “Akeelah and the Bee” star often hits back at social media trolls criticizing her skin, clapping back at haters calling her ”ugly” in December.
“I’m beautiful in real life, because of who I am, not what I look like,” she tweeted. “Truly it’s insane to say anyone is ugly, but especially me.”
