Adventist SHS Student Suzzy Pinamang Regains Her Sight After UK Surgery Sponsored By Ibrahim Mahama
Months after a traumatic incident left Suzzy Pinamang, a student at Adventist SHS in Kumasi, blind in one eye, hope and healing have finally emerged. Thanks to a successful surgery in the United Kingdom, Suzzy is now on the path to recovery and reclaiming her independence.
The life-changing procedure took place on June 2, 2025, at the renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. It was fully funded by celebrated Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist, Ibrahim Mahama.

In a heartfelt video seen online, Suzzy’s brother, Clement, spoke of her inspiring progress. “She’s now able to do things on her own,” he said. The footage shows Suzzy confidently walking along a street and serving herself food encouraging signs that her healing journey is well underway.
Rafik Mahama, special aide to Ibrahim Mahama, issued an official statement confirming the success of the operation and commending everyone who contributed: “I’m happy to announce that Suzzy Adwoa Pinamang successfully underwent her eye surgery on June 2, 2025, at Moorfields Eye Hospital in the UK, one of the world’s top eye care centers.
The operation went smoothly, and Suzzy is steadily regaining her sight and independence. I extend heartfelt thanks to the medical teams in both Ghana and the UK especially the outstanding staff at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
Special appreciation also goes to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Ghana High Commission in London, outgoing UK High Commissioner HE Harriet Thompson, Hon. Francis Asenso-Boakye, Suzzy’s family, the media, Roger Pope Opticians in London, and the public for their unwavering support, prayers, and commitment.
