Actress Kafui Danku Appointed Executive Secretary Of The National Film Authority
Ghanaian actress and filmmaker Kafui Danku-Pitcher has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA) Ghana.She succeeds Juliet Asante in this role.

Kafui Danku-Pitcher has been active in the film industry since 2008, working as an actress and filmmaker. In 2013, she became an executive producer at ABC Pictures Limited.
Additionally, she has experience working with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as a Repatriation Assistant, where she contributed to the implementation of humanitarian policies, conducted refugee interviews, performed socio-economic assessments, and engaged in strategic data analysis.
Beyond her film career, Danku-Pitcher is committed to economic empowerment. She founded the Dream Achievers Project, which supports startup businesses, demonstrating her dedication to fostering economic development. Her contributions have been recognized with accolades such as Tourism Personality of the Year 2024 and Most Outstanding Women Entrepreneur’s Rising. She has also participated in global summits, including the UN Summit of the Future 2024 and the Women Empowerment Summit.
In her new role as Executive Secretary of the NFA, Danku-Pitcher aims to create an enabling environment for the creative arts industry to thrive, empower industry players, and enhance the sector’s contribution to Ghana’s GDP
Her appointment comes shortly after actor James Gardiner was announced as the Deputy Executive Secretary of the NFA on February 27, 2025.
