Chairman Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has vehemently rejected any intention of appearing before the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) disciplinary committee, describing it as a “Kangaroo” court.

This comes in response to a final warning issued by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, following concerns over alleged indiscipline exhibited by Abronye and fellow party member Ernest Owusu-Bempah.

According to Kodua, the NPP will no longer tolerate public misconduct from any party member, regardless of rank.
“There will be a final warning to Abronye and Owusu-Bempah over their indiscipline. Moving forward, the party will not tolerate such behaviour, even from leaders. Sanctions will be applied where necessary. If you hold a position in the party, your utterances carry weight,” he warned.

Chairman Buttey, after engaging the two individuals in extended discussions, affirmed that any future misconduct would trigger disciplinary action.

But Abronye DC remains defiant. Speaking on Ohia TV, he lambasted the party’s leadership for what he described as hypocrisy and selective justice.
“They talk about unity, but they can’t even call certain individuals to order. How is that unity?” he questioned.

He referenced the alleged social media smear campaigns involving Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, including claims of a rice importation scandal, as proof of internal division.
“Everyone in the party is aware of what’s going on. Yet, the very people promoting this division are the ones calling for calm,” he said.

Rejecting any disciplinary hearing, Abronye stated in a letter dated June 25, 2025, that he had not received any formal invitation from the party.
“I must state that I have not received any official communication from the party inviting me to any disciplinary committee,” the letter reads.
“If the letter circulating on social media is anything to go by, I must state on record that I will not appear before any Kangaroo Disciplinary Committee.”

He concluded with a bold declaration:
“I, Kwame Baffoe Abronye, cannot be intimidated to keep quiet in the party. I will continue to speak my mind on all issues within the party. I am willing to sacrifice everything for the right thing to be done in the party—even if it means losing my position.”
