A Man Who Doesn’t Attend Church Isn’t God-fearing – Pastor Enoch Boama
Many women often say they want to marry a “God-fearing” man but what does that truly mean?
Pastor Enoch Boama of Christ Embassy Airport City Church addressed this question in a special ladies’ edition of his YouTube show, By The Finer Side, held on International Women’s Day. The episode focused on Christian values and how they should influence women’s choices in marriage.
Pastor Enoch began by defining what it means to be a God-fearing man: “A man who fears God reveres His word. For example, if you don’t go to church, you don’t fear the Lord. According to Hebrews 10:25, church attendance is a clear sign of reverence. So, a man who doesn’t go to church cannot be considered God-fearing.”
He backed his point with Psalm 112:1, adding, “It doesn’t matter how nice or good a man appears—if he doesn’t exalt the Lord, he’s not God-fearing.”

He also clarified a common misconception: “We often confuse a praying man with a God-fearing one. But it’s possible to pray without truly fearing God.”
Beyond the traits of a God-fearing man, Pastor Enoch also spoke about the Proverbs 31 woman, referencing verses 11–28. He described her as dependable, peaceful, industrious, visionary, and faithful someone who doesn’t chase trends but manages her home well and earns the praise of her husband and children.
He cautioned women against superficial reasons for choosing a spouse. “Don’t risk your life through childbearing for someone who lacks sense. Don’t marry just because a man is handsome or buys you gifts. There has to be more.”
The event, held at Silverbird Cinemas in Accra Mall, featured a photo booth, spin-and-win prizes, and an uplifting atmosphere dedicated to empowering women.
Pastor Enoch concluded by encouraging men to be grounded in faith and character if they hope to attract a Proverbs 31 woman who, he noted, is indeed rare.
His message serves as a timely reminder for both men and women to prioritize godliness, values, and purpose when it comes to relationships.
