Deborah Seyram Adablah Sentenced To 45 Days In Jail For Contempt Of Court
The Accra High Court has sentenced Deborah Seyram Adablah, a former National Service personnel and social media figure, to 45 days in prison for contempt of court. The ruling follows her repeated defiance of court orders and inflammatory public statements.
Adablah rose to public attention in 2023 after filing a lawsuit against her former boss at a prominent Ghanaian bank, Ernest Kwesi Nimako. She accused him of sexual harassment and failing to honor financial and material promises made during what she described as a romantic relationship.

A central issue in the case involved a Honda Civic, which Adablah claimed was a gift. However, the court ordered that the vehicle be surrendered and held in safekeeping pending the outcome of the case. She ignored the court’s directive issued in May 2023.
Subsequently, Adablah posted a series of provocative videos on social media, accusing the presiding judge, Justice John Bosco Nabarese, of bias, misconduct, and personal prejudice. Her statements included insults and threats, which were widely criticized for undermining the judiciary’s credibility.
During sentencing, the court ruled that her behavior constituted a serious breach of judicial authority and an effort to erode public trust in the legal system. Justice Nabarese described her actions as “reckless, deliberate, and a blatant disregard for the dignity of the court.”
Adablah’s lawyers have yet to announce whether they intend to appeal the decision.
