KNUST Declares Two Former Students Persona non Grata
The management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has declared two dismissed students—Ransford Fosu-Boateng, popularly known as “Scammer Baby,” and Raphael Appiah Owusu—as persona non grata due to their repeated unauthorized entry onto the university’s campus.
In a statement released by the University’s Relations Office and signed by Deputy Registrar Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, it was noted that Fosu-Boateng was dismissed on March 21, 2022, while Owusu’s dismissal took effect at the end of the 2023/2024 academic year.

Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe expressed concern over the continued unauthorized presence of Ransford Fosu-Boateng and Raphael Appiah Owusu on the KNUST campus, despite their official dismissal from the University’s register. He stated that the two had been repeatedly seen infiltrating residential halls and other university facilities unlawfully.
According to Dr. Bekoe, their presence on campus has been linked to several disruptive incidents, including harassment of students and acts of indiscipline that pose a threat to the safety and order of the University community.
He revealed that a recent incident captured by CCTV showed both individuals actively involved in an unlawful gathering that led to vandalism and the destruction of university property.
Their ongoing intrusion, he stressed, is a clear breach of the University’s regulations. As they are no longer recognized as students, they have no legitimate reason to be on campus grounds.
“They have been declared persona non grata and will be treated as trespassers if found anywhere within the University environment,” Dr. Bekoe asserted.
He also issued a warning to current students, urging them not to associate with the dismissed individuals. Any student found aiding or granting them access to campus would face severe disciplinary measures in accordance with the University’s code of conduct.
Dr. Bekoe reiterated KNUST’s dedication to maintaining a safe, secure, and academically driven environment for all legitimate members of the University.
