Edem Goget’em Drops New Single ‘Higher’ Featuring KiDi
Ghanaian artist Edem Goget’em has kicked off 2025 with the release of his new single, “Higher,” featuring Afrobeat star KiDi.
The much-anticipated track blends highlife with modern Afrobeat elements, conveying a strong message of hope and resilience in overcoming life’s challenges.
Edem revealed the heartfelt inspiration behind Higher, which stemmed from a popular Ghanaian church praise song.
“I was watching a youth choir perform when I heard them sing this powerful praise song. It struck me—why not transform this into a beautiful highlife track that could resonate globally? And I believe I’ve done just that,” he shared.
Beyond its rich melodic arrangement, Higher delivers a profound social message. Edem sheds light on the struggles many young people face today, emphasizing the growing concerns of poverty and uncertainty about the future.
“We are in times where life feels challenging for so many. Poverty is creeping into the minds of the youth, and the fear of not succeeding is pushing people into things they don’t truly want to do,” he explained. “This song is a reminder to hold on to hope and faith—everything will eventually work out, and we will count our blessings one by one.”
