‘Bougie Please’ is Theodora Boakye-Ansah’s first published book. Theo has worked within the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as an anaesthetic practitioner since she qualified as an Operating Department Practitioner in 2012. She has worked in the many specialities that the Trust caters for including Neuro, Plastics, ENT, Maxillo-facial, Ophthalmic, Paediatrics, Vascular, General and Orthopaedics.

She is currently a team leader/Deputy Sister at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC), Oxford. Besides her anaesthetic practitioner and team leadership roles, Theo is also a member of the NOC Cell Salvage team, which collectively received a Staff Recognition Award in 2023.

At the peak of covid-19 in 2020, Theo volunteered to work in other departments and teams in response to the unprecedented demands that covid brought. These included working with the Covid Tracheostomy Team and the Trust’s Neuro Intensive Care Unit, lending a helping hand and gaining vital knowledge and experience.

Theodora Boakye-Ansah holds a Dip (HE) in Operating Department Practice and a PG Cert in Advanced Perioperative Care. Prior to working in healthcare, Theo gained a BA degree (Hons) in English and Theatre Arts from the University of Ghana, Legon, and served with the Royal Logistic Corps of the British Army. She is currently pursuing Health and Social Care leadership courses.

Away from Health and Care, Theo is a Community and Christian leader, serving as a Pastor, Counsellor and Music Minister. She lives in Oxfordshire in the United Kingdom with her family.
