Hiplife legend Reggie Rockstone has joined the conversation about the condition of fellow musician Okomfour Kwadee.

Many musicians and members of the public have criticized the music industry, as well as organizations like MUSIGA and GHAMRO, for neglecting Kwadee in his time of need.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Reggie urged Ghanaians not to place the blame entirely on music organizations or the industry. He emphasized that Kwadee’s struggles are a matter that requires human compassion and love, not just the responsibility of industry bodies like MUSIGA.

Reggie also challenged people to reflect on what they are doing to support the artist, instead of solely blaming the music industry.

“I’ve seen some talk on Twitter and around here and there. It feels like the public is pointing fingers at the music industry, saying it has to do something for him. Everybody is pointing fingers, and I started to get irritated by this,” Reggie Rockstone said.

“The public always needs someone to blame. And yes, he’s a comrade musically, I understand that. But you, the public, the ones pointing fingers—what are you doing besides pointing and talking?” he added.

Known as the “Grandfather of Hiplife,” Reggie Rockstone spoke passionately about his efforts to help others, stressing that compassion should be extended to everyone, not just public figures. He highlighted his own work assisting strangers and rehabilitating people, emphasizing the importance of showing kindness to all.

“For years and years, this man made beautiful music for you. If anybody should be as emotional as y’all are acting, it should be you,” Rockstone stated, urging the public to reflect on Kwadee’s contributions.

He also revealed that Kwadee’s situation is more complex than the public realizes, with efforts already underway behind the scenes to assist him.

Reggie Rockstone called on fans to show their support in meaningful ways, starting with prayers and financial contributions if possible.

“Prayers—that’s a good start. Money, if you’ve got it. Love from the heart—anything,” he urged.

Kwadee, famous for hits like Abrantie and Ofie Nipa, has been in and out of rehabilitation centers and is currently staying with his family in the Upper East Region.
