Richie Mensah Denies The Notion Of A ‘Lynx curse’
Richie Mensah, CEO of Lynx Entertainment, has rejected claims that his artists’ careers decline after leaving the label.
In an interview on Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim, Richie explained that the so-called ‘Lynx curse’ is simply a result of the challenges artists face when they go independent.
“Music is tough. When an artist leaves that structured environment and is on their own, it’s hard. They’re not cursed, it’s just difficult,” he clarified.
He stressed that the success of Lynx Entertainment is due to the collective effort of around 60 employees, who work relentlessly on different aspects of an artist’s project.
“We have a team dedicated to working on creatives, another focused on PR, and one handling visuals. When you leave and can’t afford to hire as many people, the effort and input decrease significantly, which in turn affects the output,” he added.
Richie also warned against judging success purely by numbers. He pointed out that sometimes, the success of a musician’s career should be measured by the effort they put into their work and the profit margins they achieve.
