Lasmid Owusu Nathaniel also known on stage as Lasmid recently revealed that he used to be a “Fita” before venturing into music full-time.
Speaking on Onua FM’s Adwuma Adwuma, hosted by Felicia Osei, the Ghanaian singer-songwriter disclosed that before he became the musician he is today, he was en route to becoming a “Fita” as he was learning the trade.
“I was a mechanic, “Fita” apprentice ( auto electronics) but I was unable to complete it. I was trained for a period between three to six months but I realized that my destiny was in music so I had to stop. The errands too were a lot,” he revealed.
Lasmid shared that though he was not able to complete his studies, in recent times, he can operate a little bit in that space with the help of an expert.
“I learned a lot of things so I can determine a fault in that regard but would have to get someone to do the fixing after I have identified the problem,” he stated.

The rapper who hails from Takoradi indicated that he is not saddened by the fact that he wasn’t able to finish his training because the digression was “worth it”. According to him, “I am not pained for not completing the training because I think it is worth it.”
He further added that was not pressured to study the trade by his guardians. He decided to give it a go and started the training which he did in Takoradi after a lot of contemplation.
“I wasn’t forced to learn the job but I wasn’t willing to do so. It was more like I was at home doing nothing. No one forced me. After a lot of thinking, I realized I had done a lot of difficult tasks before so this was no different; it was normal. I learnt the trade at Takoradi,” he said.
