Speaking during a visit to the Black Stars camp, Ibrahim Mahama revealed that he had initially withheld a promised financial package for the team because he wanted to see convincing performances on the pitch before releasing the funds.

According to him, the determination, commitment, and quality displayed by the players at the tournament have exceeded his expectations, prompting him to not only honor his original pledge but also increase the amount.

“I’m truly impressed by your performances at the World Cup. I had held back the financial support I promised and even told the Minister that I wouldn’t release the money until I saw strong performances from the team,” he told the players and technical staff.
