Gospel industry figure and Hitz FM host Nii Noi has urged stakeholders to stay united and support nominees following discussions about this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) nominations.

His comments come after debates over the nomination list, especially the absence of Piesie Esther in the Artiste of the Year category, despite what many consider a strong year for her. Meanwhile, Diana Hamilton secured a spot, making her the only gospel artiste in that category.

Speaking to Graphic Showbiz, Nii Noi explained that the Artiste of the Year category is not based on genre, but on overall performance. He said all artistes are judged using the same criteria, including releases, performances, reach, and impact within the year.

He added that while Piesie Esther had a successful song, meeting the requirements for the top category goes beyond having a hit track. According to him, Diana Hamilton earned her nomination by meeting the set criteria during the year under review.
