Ghana Sports Fund Bill Passed By Parliament Of Ghana
The Parliament of Ghana has passed the Ghana Sports Fund Bill, marking the conclusion of the bill’s consideration stage.
Presented under a Certificate of Urgency, the bill was brought before Parliament on Thursday, 18 December, with Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams and Chairman of the Parliamentary Sports Committee, Ernest Nogbey, in attendance.

The bill, formally titled “An Act to establish the Ghana Sports Fund to provide sustainable funding for sports development in the country and sports for development, to provide for the management of the fund and for related matters,” was read to Parliament. Ernest Nogbey confirmed that there were “no advertised amendments” to the bill.
First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Bernard Ahiafor, subsequently called for a vote, which resulted in the bill being passed. He stated, “The Long Title is ordered to stand part of the bill.”

Responding to the motion, Sports Minister Kofi Adams said, “Speaker, I move that motion numbered 31 on today’s order paper be taken. By doing so, I request that this bill, which has just gone through consideration, be read a third time.”
Following the final vote, the Ghana Sports Fund Bill was officially passed, setting the stage for sustainable funding and development of sports across the country.
