“I fund everything that I do, including my team. I literally do everything by myself,” he told host George Quaye.

Wode Maya, celebrated for his inspiring storytelling about African innovation, culture, and entrepreneurship, explained that his income comes solely from the monetisation of his digital platforms primarily YouTube and is reinvested into sustaining his travels and productions.

“All my platforms are monetised, and that’s the money we use to travel,” he said. “Do you know it’s more expensive to travel within Africa than anywhere else in the world?”

He also revealed that reposting high-performing videos helps maintain a steady revenue flow, allowing him to finance his content and support his team’s operations across the continent.

“The videos we make generate income, and we use that money to travel,” he added.

While the diplomatic passport acknowledges his role as an ambassador for Ghana and Africa, Wode Maya clarified that it doesn’t come with financial support or sponsorship.

Currently, the popular content creator has achieved impressive milestones amassing about 3 million followers on Facebook and nearly 1.85 million subscribers on YouTube solidifying his place as one of Africa’s most influential digital storytellers.
