Gospel Musicians Are Not United – Rev. Akwasi Boateng Reveals
Veteran Ghanaian gospel musician Rev. Edward AKwasi Boateng has refuted Prophet Nigel Gaisie’s claim that gospel musicians are more united than men of God, insisting that the gospel music industry is rife with rivalry and division.
Speaking on Akoma Mmre with host Tony Best on Akoma FM, Rev. Boateng shared that his personal experiences have shown him the opposite of the unity Prophet Gaisie described.

“I expected my fellow gospel musicians to support me during my difficult times last year, but instead, some ridiculed me and mocked the kindness others showed me. That is not unity,” he said, referencing Diana Asamoah’s reaction to his struggles.

Rev. Boateng further revealed that competition and conflicts are common in the industry. “I know a gospel musician (O.J) who wrote a song for two other gospel artists, and that song ended up creating enmity between them,” he added.

According to the Makoma So Adeɛ hitmaker, there is actually more unity among preachers of the gospel than within the gospel music fraternity.
