God Loves Glamour, So Look Your Best – Piesie Esther Tells Colleagues
Award-winning gospel singer Piesie Esther has encouraged her colleagues particularly female artistes to resist the pressure of adopting a “plain” image in order to appear godly.

According to the Waye Me Yie hitmaker, many gospel musicians lose confidence by hiding their true selves out of fear of public judgment. She believes it is time for this to stop, stressing that “God loves glamour.”
Speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz on Monday, August 18, Piesie Esther explained that her call is not about diluting the gospel message but about amplifying it with excellent presentation.
“We don’t have to be plain to be holy. The God we represent appreciates good things, so we should always present ourselves looking our best,” she said.
She further argued that when the message is strong, appearance does not become a distraction but rather a tool to enhance ministry.

Piesie Esther noted that in today’s digital age, where social media and global platforms extend an artiste’s reach, gospel musicians must be mindful of their image.
“Times have changed. There is social media and other platforms that project you beyond your country. We shouldn’t look ‘colo’ simply because we want to appear godly,” she explained.
While acknowledging that gospel music is not in competition with secular music, she pointed out that secular artistes invest heavily in branding something gospel artistes can also learn from.
Addressing concerns that gospel artistes are shifting focus from spirituality to fame and material success, Piesie Esther clarified that her advocacy goes beyond outward looks. For her, branding is about building a sustainable and impactful ministry.
“The Piesie Esther during Ziba Beko days is not the same as the Piesie Esther in the Waye Me Yie era. There’s been growth, and the results show,” she explained.
She emphasized the importance of fan engagement, corporate partnerships, and creating a strong artistic identity.
“I’m the brand ambassador for Flora Tissues. Do you think they would have signed me if I hadn’t put my career in order? That’s the kind of branding I’m talking about. Ministry and branding should complement each other,” she added.
Despite facing criticism on social media with some accusing her of “backsliding” Piesie Esther said she has learned to ignore negative comments and stay focused on her calling.
In addition to her advocacy for professionalism in gospel music, she announced the release of a new single, Nyame Ye (God is Good), which she described as a heartfelt celebration of God’s unchanging love, mercy, and faithfulness.

“This song is very dear to me because it speaks to one truth that never changes: God is good,” she affirmed.
