The operation, led by Ghana Air Force officers with support from other military units, local residents, and the area’s Assembly Member, involved navigating dense forest terrain to reach the remote location.

According to initial reports, the helicopter was headed to Obuasi when it went off radar, triggering an urgent search by military and local teams. Investigators hope the black box will yield vital data to reconstruct the events leading to the crash.
Meanwhile, samples of the victims’ remains have been flown to South Africa for DNA testing to aid identification.
