The 35-year-old joined the Normandy-based outfit in November 2023, shortly after his departure from Nottingham Forest. He initially signed as a free agent, later extending his stay with a one-year contract in October 2024.

Ayew quickly became a vital asset for Le Havre, scoring 9 goals in 49 appearances and playing a significant role in helping the team avoid relegation. His wealth of experience and leadership qualities proved invaluable to a squad that had been struggling to find consistency in France’s top division.

In a heartfelt farewell message, Le Havre expressed deep appreciation for Ayew’s contributions:

“Thank you, André. A monster of combativeness, André Ayew was an example for all who wore the sky and navy. He understood HAC, its fans, Le Havre, and its people so well. Good luck, André!”

The departure marks yet another chapter in Ayew’s well-travelled football journey, with Le Havre becoming the ninth club in a career that has taken him across Europe and Asia. His previous clubs include Marseille, Lorient, Arles-Avignon, Swansea City, West Ham United, Fenerbahçe, Al-Sadd, and Nottingham Forest.

Ayew’s international career has also been remarkable. He captained Ghana’s U-20 team to World Cup victory in 2009, and has since become a mainstay in the senior Black Stars squad, earning over 100 caps.

Now a free agent once more, the experienced forward remains an appealing prospect for clubs looking to add proven talent and seasoned leadership to their ranks.
