Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs To Be Sentenced October 3
A federal judge has scheduled October 3 as the sentencing date for music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who was recently convicted of transporting prostitutes for drug-fueled sexual encounters.

U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, who presided over Combs’ trial in Manhattan, confirmed the sentencing date on Tuesday after a request from Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo. Prosecutors and probation officers also agreed to the timeline.

Combs, 55, remains in custody at a Brooklyn jail, where he has been held since his arrest in September. Although jurors acquitted him on July 2 of the most serious charges including sex trafficking and racketeering, which carried the potential for a life sentence they found him guilty on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution.

The split verdict marked a setback for prosecutors, while Combs and his legal team celebrated the partial acquittal.
Prosecutors had accused Combs of pressuring two former partners, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and a woman known only as “Jane,” into engaging in sex acts with male sex workers, allegedly facilitated by his staff. A third woman, who testified under the pseudonym “Mia,” said Combs repeatedly assaulted her while she worked for him.
Combs pleaded not guilty to all five charges.
Under federal sentencing guidelines, prosecutors estimate a potential prison term of 51 to 63 months. However, Combs’ legal team argues the same guidelines support a sentence closer to two years. Judge Subramanian is not bound by these recommendations and can impose a different sentence based on arguments from both sides.
Defense attorneys have until July 30 to request that the court overturn the conviction. They are also expected to submit their formal sentencing recommendation by September 19, with prosecutors expected to respond the following week.
Combs, the founder of Bad Boy Records, played a pivotal role in shaping hip-hop’s mainstream appeal, launching the careers of stars like Notorious B.I.G. and Usher.
He still faces multiple civil lawsuits alleging abuse, all of which he denies.
Sean ‘#Diddy‘ Combs’ next court appearance will be a virtual hearing later today. The procedural session is scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern and will determine whether Combs’ sentencing, currently set for October 3, can be expedited.
