In the lead-up to the launch, Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy programme, Goosie Tanoh, officially presented the policy document to Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin on June 26, 2025 a move that signaled the government’s readiness to implement the initiative.

Tanoh described the policy as anchored on three core pillars:

  • Transformation of production

  • Improved supply chain and market systems

  • Enhanced human capital development

These are supported by eight strategic sub-programmes designed to ensure the effective rollout and long-term success of the initiative.

“This initiative is geared towards creating more sustainable jobs and fostering an economy that never sleeps,” Tanoh said. “It’s about building a competitive, modern economy fit for the global market.”

The 24-Hour Economy policy is projected to be a transformative force in Ghana’s economic structure, ushering in a new era of innovation, efficiency, and inclusive employment.
