Court Grants Ex-GIHOC MD Kofi Jumah GHS500k Bail
Former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has been granted bail to the tune of GHS500,000 with two sureties, following his recent arrest over allegations of corporate vehicle theft and financial impropriety.

Mr. Jumah appeared at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters in Accra on Monday, June 30, where he was formally processed and released on bail. His arrest took place on Sunday, June 29, when National Security operatives picked him up from his residence in Kumasi during his private birthday celebration.
Sources indicate that the former GIHOC boss is currently assisting the police with ongoing investigations into claims of financial irregularities, mismanagement of company resources, and the alleged unauthorized purchase of state vehicles during his tenure.

A May 15, 2025 raid on his Kumasi home preceded the arrest. Reports suggest the probe centers on his acquisition of a Genesis G90 saloon car (registration number GE 86 22-19), which, according to official documents, was approved by the GIHOC Board of Directors in line with his conditions of service as managing director. The car purchase was allegedly authorized on August 1, 2019.
As investigations continue, Mr. Jumah remains under scrutiny, with law enforcement agencies working to determine the full scope of the allegations.
