“I Apologize” – Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia Says Sorry To NPP Members For 2024 Election Loss
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President and the 2024 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has publicly apologized to party members for the party’s disappointing performance in the 2024 general elections.
Delivering an address in London, United Kingdom, Dr. Bawumia admitted that despite the party’s hard work, several missteps contributed to the loss.
“We got quite a few things wrong, and I think that, on my own behalf and on behalf of the party, I apologise to all of you for us not getting the figures right,” he stated candidly.
Nonetheless, he expressed hope for the future, emphasizing the party’s determination to learn from its mistakes.
“I believe that, by the grace of God, if we are given another opportunity, we will get many things right, because we have learnt the lessons that will guide us forward,” he added.
In the aftermath of the landslide defeat, the NPP formed a 12-member committee, chaired by former Speaker of Parliament Professor Mike Oquaye, to investigate the causes of the loss. However, the party has yet to make the findings of the report public.
